The Friends of Valkenberg Trust is an NPO and, although it relies heavily on donor funding it is also committed to income generation and raising funds through events. A good and long term relationship exists with a diverse group of regular funders and supporters. The fact that the organisation is still operating without debt, after more than 20 years, with the back-up of a small but solid savings account as contingency, indicates the success of its financial sustainability.
